In 2014, I collaborated with a group of parent volunteers and school admins to establish a garden enrichment club at Newfield Elementary School. In this program, 2nd and 3rd grade students have the opportunity to plan, plot and cultivate a community garden. 4th and 5th grade garden club alumni serve as mentors for the younger students. Now in our 5th year, I continue to co-chair the club and maintain the garden, as well as create all of our visual collateral.
